My name is Dr. Joe Fraelic, and I am happy to be the newest member of this team! I am originally from Nova Scotia and moved to Port Colborne 15 years ago. I studied at Dalhousie University (BSc- Chemistry & Kinesiology) before working as a paramedic in Halifax and Port Colborne for over a decade. After completing medical school internationally, I finished my residency in Family Medicine here in Niagara through McMaster University.
I was immediately drawn to Port Colborne for my love of the water and that my wife Petra and her family all grew up in the Port Colborne/ Wainfleet area.
I am a strong believer in community medicine, and I understand that the role of medicine in Ontario has changed with today’s expanding health care needs and reduced accessibility. Preventative medicine has thus become a crucial component in patient care, and I hope to manage all facets of health care and treat family members of all ages.
Outside of the office, you can find me with my three sons at the Vale hockey arena or coaching at one of the local soccer fields. I am excited to be practicing in Port Colborne, and I look forward to the balance and support that the multidisciplinary team at Niagara South Family Medicine will offer.
I am looking forward to meeting you and providing medical care to you and your family!
